Alphabet Soup

So - this new hobby that I love (digital scrapbooking) has kind of taken over my life... and I've decided to give myself the challenge of making my own kit! And one week - and 10 hours of work - later... I have! I got the inspiration from Ethan's crib set, so I think it's pretty cute and fun - and usable for things other than just baby. For those of you who are interested, please download and leave me some comments on what you think - should I change things, is there something you wish was included that isn't, does it suck, etc. There may come a time in life where I venture into the world of selling these - maybe - and I wouldn't want to embarrass myself with poor quality work... and I trust you people, so let me know. :) Click on the picture to download. **Password is soup.**

Here is a sample page I made with the kit. Everything you see here, I made... baby included... ;)

And on to my next thought... whether or not I actually sell these, I do think I'll keep creating them for at least a little while. And I'd like to start a scrapbooking blog to make them available to a larger number of people - if anyone out there is even interested... But since I'm so incredibly bad with names - I'm enlisting your wise and clever minds to help me out. Some that I like (although already taken) for their brevity and wit are: "Digitreats" and "A Work in Progress." Some that I don't because I think it's tacky are: "Scraporoni with Toni" and "Scraptacular." Below I've listed some ideas and sort of where they came from... please vote at the poll on your right, or leave your own suggestion in a comment.

  1. Digital Retreat - because this new hobby is sort of an escape for me... however, whenever I hear the word "retreat" I think of green and red plaid and hunting parties... don't ask...
  2. Sleepless Obsession - because that is what it's become. I stay up WAY past my bedtime, then I can't sleep because all I can think of is color palettes, and new ways to manipulate Photoshop.
  3. Pea Soup - crazy in = crazy out
  4. Digital Intervention - keeping me sane one layout at a time
  5. Stolen Moments - reflecting the time we spend actually scrapbooking, as well as the moments of time captured by our photographs....
  6. I guess I could also call it Alphabet Soup after my first kit...

7 things to say...:

Your stuff is way cute! I've been meaning to do more digital scrapbooking but haven't gotten around to doing it yet...Maybe when Matt gets back to school. I love your alphabet soup design and totally think you could sell it. If you ever want inspiration for palettes or patterns, here's a site that I love and use all the time when I'm creating Web sites. http://www.colourlovers.com/. Have you found any good sites that have free digital scrapbooking stuff?

Okay I am not the best person to ask about digital stuff, because I haven't done it myself. However, I like that your album looks like regular scrapbooking just digitalized. A lot of digital stuff in my opinion looks too "fake" but your stuff still looks like paper. You should sell it. Nice little way to make money!

I like Alphabet Soup best! It's cute and it makes me think of baby stuff, which may or may not be what you're going for.

And I know absolutely nothing about digital scrapbooking, but I am VERY impressed with what you've done! Your stuff looks awesome.

I'm so proud of you! Way cute stuff you made, and in only 10 hours, good job. I think I like the name Digitreats the best or the digital retreat? Again, you did a way good job. I will download your kit and see if I have any critisism for you, but I'm sure you did great. By the way, jam is really easy to make. I bought the MCP pectin and it came with the recipe. It took me about an hour. Well worth it if you ask me.

Tarah - you're not retarded... I changed the password to "abc" (don't type the "'s). That link will give you a RAR file. If you want a ZIP file, go here instead:
